Trevor commenced in the Conveyancing industry as the National Banks settlements officer in July of 1978. In November of 1979, after choosing not to be transferred out of town as part of the Bank’s policy, he resigned and joined Neil Halfpenny Barrister and Solicitor as a commercial law clerk. Trevor remained with that firm for 17 years, obtaining his Certificate in Legal Studies from the then Darwin Institute of Technology. During that period Trevor gained extensive experience in the field of Conveyancing, and after the NT Government introduction of licensing in 1993, his good stead was awarded with the issue of his Conveyancing Licence.
In 1996 Trevor commenced his practice as a sole practitioner working from a home based Office in Nightcliff and now currently employs 12 staff in the Coconut Grove and Palmerston Offices.
Trevor is held in high esteem by his colleagues, conveyancers, solicitors, clients, real estate agents surveyors and government agencies.
Trevor has:
- Served on the Property Agents Licensing Board since 1995,
- Been the President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Committee Member of the Australian Institute of Conveyancers (NT Division),
- Served as a National Councilllor on the Australian Institute of Conveyancing,
- Been awarded life membership of HPA Inc (formerly Handicapped Persons Association,
- Been awarded life membership of the Kiwanis Club of Casuarina and the Hixson medal which is Kiwanis’ highest individual award for services to the community and has been President and Secreatry and Committee Member of that Club,
- Been Wanderers Football Club’s advocate’s officer since 1992,
- Been nominated as Darwin Citizen of the year, and
- Worked tirelessly with many other community members to realise and bring to fruition, the new Nightcliff Community Bank - Bendigo Bank.
A very prominent citizen of Darwin and a very good Client of a large Law Firm recently paid Trevor a compliment when he was heard to remark that Trevor had stood the test of time in the Conveyancing industry.
